Location
Our home base is in Moore Haven, Florida in the heart of the Glades region - however we have over 60,000 acres of private alligator hunting lands throughout South Florida, Lake Okeechobee, and around the Everglades.
Whether you live in or are visiting Miami, Tampa, Orlando, or Fort Myers give us a call. We typically have a great private alligator hunting spot you can get to with just a short drive. Tampa (TPA), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Miami (MIA), & Orlando (MCO) are all great airport choices to start from if you are flying in. |
Who Can Hunt?
Our Florida Alligator Hunts are perfect for both beginner and pro hunters - whether you want to hunt solo or have a group of friends all hunt together. You do not need to be a resident of Florida, or from the U.S. to hunt one of our giant alligators. We know it isn't every day that you get the chance to hunt a giant gator, so we work hard to make sure all of our customers have a safe and successful hunt. We'll work hard to help you find the perfect sized alligator across our 60,000+ acres of private swamps, sloughs, and other great hunting spots. All of our guided gator hunts are compliant with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission's regulations to maintain healthy gator populations.

When Can I Hunt?
Private land gator hunts are available year-round!
Daytime alligator hunts are typically the most exciting but we may be able to do a later hunt if requested. You can make a reservation by calling (863) 227-0777. Public land alligator hunts are available only during the Florida Public Alligator Hunting Season. Most customers prefer hunting on our 60,000+ acres of private lands to get access to the best monster gators around, but we're happy to go on a public land hunt during the season. The public season typically runs from August 15th to November 1st. |
Hunt Length
Don't worry - we aren't the type to rush you through your alligator hunt. Our gator hunts vary in length, just like the gators our customers hunt. Sometimes it takes a little longer to find the perfect gator, since we aren't like some places and are hunting for wild gators instead of a bunch in one pond.
Typical gator hunts last anywhere from 2-4 hours but can be a little longer with larger parties. |
Clothing
We recommend wearing a light shirt, close-toed shoes, and lightweight pants or shorts during your alligator hunt. Make no mistake, Florida can get a bit hot during the day.
Wearing camouflage isn't necessary, but many customers choose to wear it since that is what they are comfortable in. We also recommend bringing plenty of sunscreen and some bug spray if you want. |
Hunting Weapons
Our wild gator hunts are unique. We offer the ability to really hunt gators the way you want. Many times we even get the opportunity to snag a gator and let you fight with one of the baddest beasts around. From bang-sticks to bows, we're here to help you get your gator the way you want!
We have loaner weapons available for those who need them, or feel free to bring your own. Give us a shout if there is something special you want to hunt your florida alligator with or if you have any questions. |
After The Hunt
After the hunt, we have an alligator processor who can skin your gator and give you the hide. You'll also get some fresh alligator meat so you can enjoy the taste of your hunt! If you need full alligator processing, this may be available - call for more details.
Depending on the property used for your guided gator hunt, you may be able to add on a Florida wild hog hunt to your guided hunting adventure. Just ask us when you call for your reservation. |
Pricing
We strive to be competitive with our gator hunt pricing. Here at Big 'O' Hunts - we make sure our customers get their money's worth with a real wild gator hunt. The only additional charge necessary to harvest a gator with us is a license which currently runs just $52, regardless of your state or country of residence. We can help your purchase this on-site or tell you how to purchase in advance.
You'll be hunting Florida gators in the wild, not out of a pen or enclosed area. Depending upon the property we choose for your Florida gator hunt, we may use any of the following vehicles - Swamp Buggies, Airboats, Trucks, or ATVs. |
